6 pears, peeled, cored (leave the stem in for a nicer presentation)
2 c. red wine
2 whole cloves
1 sm. stick cinnamon, broken
1/2 c. sugar
2 oz. Brandy
Place whole pears and wine in saucepan.
Add cloves, cinnamon and sugar.
Simmer until pears are tender and then remove pears from pan and place in serving bowl.
Remove cloves and cinnamon from hot syrup.
Stir in brandy and heat gently for 1 minute.
Pour syrup over pears.
